Troubleshooting for Talk and Listen System®
Read through the manual and user guide carefully to verify proper setup and installation of your system.
Verify the batteries are fresh or completely charged and the “plus” and “minus” terminals are correctly matched.
If the rechargeable batteries only work for a short period of time (less than 1 hour) even after they are fully charged, they must be regenerated. Turn the transmitter(s) or receiver(s) on until the batteries are completely dead, and then fully charge. This should restore normal battery life. Rechargeable batteries will gradually lose their capacity over time and should be replaced every 1 to 2 years.
Make sure the microphone is plugged into the ARG-TX72BP/ARG-TX900BP transmitter and the earphone/headphone is plugged in the ARG-RX72BP/ARG-RX900BP receiver.
Move the transmitter and receiver closer together. You may be out of range. When using the system indoors, it is normal for the signal to momentarily disappear in certain locations. This is called a “drop-out”, moving a few feet in any direction may restore the signal.
When using two or more transmitters simultaneously, do not use adjacent channels if possible, example: if your system has 3 total channels (1, 2, 3) and you want to use two transmitters simultaneously, set TX1 to channel 1 and TX2 to channel 3 leaving channel 2 as an unused channel. This creates more spacing between the channels decreasing the chances of the two frequencies in use to cause interference with one another.
If you are still hearing interference on the receivers, turn the transmitter on and listen to a receiver. If you hear the interference with the transmitter on, you need to change to a clear channel.
Troubleshooting for VoiceAmp®
- No sound:
- Check batteries.
- Verify that all the plugs are connected securely and properly.
- Verify that all the switches are in the “on” position.
- Verify the transmitter and receiver are on the same channel.
- Static:
- Static is an indicator of interference. Move VoiceAmp® to another location until static disappears.
- Feedback:
- Turn VoiceAmp® volume down.
- Move VoiceAmp® to a different location.
